Novastar - Card IN 1x RJ45 (NDI) - H Series

The NovaStar Card IN 1x RJ45 (NDI) – H Series input card integrates the NDI protocol directly into the H2, H5, H9 and H15 video processing chassis. The principle is simple: NDI-compatible video sources are transmitted over the network and then received by the card via its RJ45 port. This approach allows content from an IP video environment to be integrated without the need for multiple HDMI, DisplayPort or SDI connections between devices.

This card supports full NDI decoding as well as the DHCP protocol to facilitate its integration into the network. Video streams can be transmitted in YUV 4:2:2 or YUV 4:2:0, with a bit depth of 8 or 10 bits. This compatibility allows a significant amount of information to be retained in the content whilst adapting to different production formats.

The processing capacity is particularly useful for multi-source configurations. The IN 1x RJ45 (NDI) card can handle up to four 2K × 1K streams at 60 Hz, two 4K × 1K streams at 60 Hz or one 4K × 2K stream at 60 Hz. The choice of configuration therefore depends on the number of sources and their resolution. The system also allows incoming sources to be cropped, making it easier to adapt them to the windows or display areas used in the final composition.

Two LED indicators on the card allow you to monitor its operation without immediately accessing the configuration interface. In particular, they indicate the status of network access and the validity of the received signal. This visual feedback can be useful during the integration or troubleshooting of an installation.

Compatible with NovaStar H2, H5, H9 and H15 units, the IN 1x RJ45 (NDI) card complements the other video input cards in the range with an interface specifically designed for IP architectures. It is particularly suitable for control rooms using NDI to transmit feeds from cameras, computers, video servers or various production sources over a shared network infrastructure.
