Novastar - Card IN 4x 12G-SDI - MX Series

In a video chain designed for LED displays, the choice of input interface often depends on the equipment already present in the control room. Cameras, mixers, video servers and other production equipment still make extensive use of the various SDI standards. The NovaStar Card IN 4x 12G-SDI – MX Series addresses this by combining four SDI inputs on a single card designed for the MX Series Main Frame.

Each input supports multiple generations of the standard: 12G-SDI, 6G-SDI, 3G-SDI and HD-SDI. This compatibility allows the same card to be used with different sources and production formats. In particular, 12G-SDI enables the reception of high-resolution signals up to 4096 × 2160 at 60 Hz, whilst previous SDI standards remain available for equipment using HD or intermediate formats.

The card also supports 3G A and 3G B levels, as well as DS mode. Interlaced signals are supported, which further extends compatibility with video sources that do not operate exclusively in progressive scan mode. This flexibility is particularly useful in an infrastructure where several generations of equipment must coexist.

For high dynamic range (HDR) content, HDR10 and HLG are supported. The card also complies with the SMPTE ST 2084 and ST 2086 standards relating to HDR content management. Finally, four status LEDs allow you to directly check the validity of the signals present on the various inputs.
