Novastar - Card OUT 16x RJ45 - H Series

Data distribution is not always limited to a series of network cables connected directly to the processor. In a large-scale LED installation, some connections may remain copper-based close to the chassis, whilst others must travel a greater distance via fibre. The NovaStar Card OUT 16x RJ45 – H Series output card combines these two options on a single 4K transmitter card.

Sixteen Gigabit Ethernet RJ45 outputs enable data to be distributed to the LED panel receiver cards. Each port can handle up to 650,000 pixels with 8-bit processing, or 320,000 pixels with 10-bit processing. The total capacity is 10.4 million pixels. The outputs can be individually configured as either a primary or backup port, allowing signal distribution to be organised according to the structure of the LED wall and redundancy requirements.

The fibre section offers a different configuration. Two 10G SFP slots are available and accept modules suitable for both single-mode and multi-mode transmission. OPT1 carries the signals corresponding to Ethernet ports 1 to 8, whilst OPT2 carries those from ports 9 to 16. This separation allows the data from each half of the network outputs to be grouped together on a dedicated optical link.

The NovaStar Card OUT 16x RJ45 is a card that also features a scaling function and supports up to 10-bit processing. It can therefore be integrated into systems where resolution and greyscale management must remain consistent with the chassis’s video processing.

This card occupies two output slots. It is a particularly useful interface for the H2, H5, H9 and H15 units when the installation combines local Ethernet links with fibre connections to remote display areas.
