The Jet Guitars JJB-300 Sunburst has a distinctive sound right from the start: two JB-style pickups mounted on the body deliver a rich, tight low-end spectrum, with a crisp attack that cuts through the mix without getting lost in it. The red tortoiseshell pickguard, framed by all-chrome hardware, draws the eye to a boldly retro aesthetic, reminiscent of the studio basses that powered the hits.Under the fingers, it is the roasted poplar — top, back and sides — that sets the tone: a wood densified by heat, with harmonics that are drier and more defined than raw poplar, and less sensitive to changes in humidity. The roasted Canadian maple neck continues this material consistency, with its 304.8 mm radius maple fingerboard offering a gentle arch that facilitates playing in the upper positions. The double-action truss rod allows for precise adjustment in both directions; the bone nut transmits string vibration without unwanted interference. The vintage-style chrome tuners maintain tuning with that slightly dampened friction characteristic of open-back tuners.The 863.6 mm scale length corresponds to the classic long-scale standard, resulting in firm string tension. The standard D’Addario strings and dual volume/single tone controls allow you to sculpt the balance between the two pickups straight out of the box.
