Beneath this deep finish, the roasted poplar body delivers a lighter acoustic mass without compromising on the warmth of the grain: the thermally dried wood stabilises moisture exchange, resulting in a more direct response between the fingers and the string. The two custom JB-style YHL Pickups capture this signal with passive fidelity, reproducing the attack in full and the decay with a slightly biting tone — the classic voice of the JB format, without superfluous electronic colouration. The 2-point, 5-saddle bridge completes this acoustic circuit by maintaining tight intonation throughout the 34-inch scale length.
The Modern C-profile roasted Canadian maple neck glides under the palm without snagging, its surface stabilised by heat treatment to repel the moisture that swells and numbs other necks. The roasted maple fingerboard with a 12-inch radius favours open positions as much as higher positions, whilst the 20 frets define a clear playing area across the 34-inch scale length. The polymer composite nut keeps the bass in tune, supported by vintage-style chrome tuners whose consistency is evident as soon as you pick up the tempo.
