Novastar - Card IN 2x DP 1.4 - MX Series

DisplayPort is particularly common on modern computers and graphics equipment. In an LED display chain, having inputs suited to this type of source avoids the need for multiple conversions before the signal reaches the processor. The NovaStar Card IN 2x DP 1.4 – MX Series provides two DisplayPort 1.4 inputs directly on the MX Series Main Frames, enabling these sources to be integrated into the processing system.

Each of the two inputs supports resolutions of up to 7680 × 4320 at 30 Hz, equivalent to an 8K UHD signal. The card can also handle refresh rates of up to 240 Hz, depending on the resolution and characteristics of the incoming signal. It can therefore support both high-definition content and computer sources requiring a high refresh rate.

HDR formats are also supported. The card supports HDR10 and HLG and complies with the SMPTE ST 2084 and ST 2086 recommendations. This capability allows HDR content to be integrated into a compatible system without systematically downgrading the source to a standard video signal.

HDCP protection is provided by the HDCP 2.3 standard, with backwards compatibility with versions 2.2, 1.4 and 1.3. This feature facilitates the use of sources from different generations and prevents the card from being limited to newer devices alone.

Two status LEDs complement the two DisplayPort inputs. They provide a direct indication of the validity of the received signals, enabling a missing or faulty source to be identified more quickly during installation.

The card occupies a single slot in the NovaStar MX Series Main Frame and functions as a dedicated input interface for DisplayPort sources. Without requiring any intermediate conversion, it thus enables the integration of two high-resolution video streams into a processing architecture designed for LED displays.
