Novastar - Card IN 2x VGA - H Series

Some video set-ups still use sources that are equipped solely with a VGA output. The NovaStar Card IN 2x VGA – H Series input card allows these to be integrated directly into the architecture of the H2, H5, H9 and H15 chassis without requiring a card with more inputs than are actually needed.

The two VGA connectors provide two independent acquisition channels. Each supports a resolution of up to 1920 × 1200 at 60 Hz, covering the main resolutions used by VGA-compatible computers and graphics equipment. The 1920 × 1200 format offers a greater image height than standard Full HD and remains particularly well-suited to computer sources with a 16:10 aspect ratio.

This dual-input configuration can be useful when a system needs to keep several sources permanently available whilst limiting the number of cards installed. Two computer workstations, a presentation source and a graphics device can thus be integrated according to the chosen configuration, and then operated from the NovaStar system’s processing environment.

The card occupies a single input slot and does not feature optical connectors. Its role is therefore clearly defined: to capture VGA signals and make them available within the H Series’ video processing system. It can thus complement other HDMI, DVI, SDI or network input cards in a modular configuration where multiple generations of sources need to coexist.

Two LED indicators monitor the status of the inputs. Each indicator allows you to visually check whether the corresponding signal is being recognised, providing immediate feedback when connecting equipment or carrying out maintenance on the installation.
