Novastar - KU20

With its six Gigabit Ethernet outputs, the Novastar KU20 is designed for LED set-ups requiring a relatively compact controller without compromising on the functions needed to set up and operate the display. It supports an HDMI 1.3 source and features a loop-through output, allowing the video signal to be reused for another part of the system.

The built-in processing supports a maximum input resolution of 1,920 × 1,200 and a display capacity of up to 3.9 million pixels. Scaling allows the content to be adapted to the resolution actually used by the screen, whilst the pixel brightness adjustment and colour calibration functions allow direct control over the display’s output. The KU20 also supports low-latency configurations where this feature is required for system operation.

Data distribution is not limited to the six Gigabit ports. The KU20 also features a 10G SFP slot, providing an optical link option to expand or adapt the transmission architecture. Two network ports are also available for system communication and control. Management can be carried out in a daisy-chain configuration via Ethernet, whilst the Art-Net and SNMP protocols enable integration with wider network control environments.

Day-to-day operation can be carried out directly on the unit. A control dial, a reset button and a 2-inch LCD screen allow access to the main settings without a computer. For more comprehensive configuration, the VMP software provides a remote control and programming interface.

Finally, the KU20 is easy to integrate into a technical infrastructure thanks to its black 1U chassis, which is compatible with a 19-inch rack. A mounting plate is supplied with the unit, as are the CAT-5, HDMI-to-HDMI and IEC cables required for commissioning.
